Truly an honor to be asked to contribute to the 2017 Rock n’ Roll poll for Nashville Scene. You can read the whole thing right here and below you’ll find my complete list I sent them, because I think all of these people deserve a shoutout!
Read MoreWow - this was a very affirming surprise to receive! Brianne and I were invited to the Nashville Scene’s Best of Nashville Awards where we learned our new psych fest creation Far Out Nashville had been named “Best New Festival” in it’s first year! After so much effort and a healthy amount of self-doubt, this was a touching little omen that we are headed in the right direction. You can read all about it on the Far Out Blog, enjoy!
Read MoreWell, now, this was a treat to be included in this article on Realtors who are giving back to their communities in Middle Tennessee through volunteering and donations. I have been a proud supporter and long-time volunteer of Youth Empowerment through Arts & Humanities / Tennessee Teens Rock Camps since 2010 and it was a no-brainer for me to decide to start putting 5% of my real estate sales commissions towards this cause. These camps have changed me fundamentally as a person and I can only IMAGINE how mind-blowing it must be for the teenaged campers!
Thank you so kindly to Mr. Bill Lewis for interviewing me for this piece in The Tennessean and extra special thanks to Sophie Mason for suggesting me as a person to highlight. Truly an unexpected and cool honor! Read it right here!
Read MoreI worked on this project with Conner Sullivan / Argus many moons ago and am happy to see it's finally been unleashed. Thanks to Impose Magazine for debuting the video. We shot this entirely on VHS, enjoy! -- KLA
Read MoreIt was a true pleasure and honor to get to spend some time with Emil Amos (Om, Grails, Lilacs & Champagne, Holy Sons...) backstage at Exit/In before Holy Sons opened for the Japanese legends MONO. If you liked what you read, make sure to listen to his podcast Drifter's Sympathy on the Feral Audio network. Check out the full story here or keep scrolling... -- KLA
Read MoreI first met Eric Slick in 2010 (?) when he played a show in my tiny East Nashville living room with Hop Along and Lithuania. Since then, I've seen him perform numerous times with Dr. Dog, once at The End with Lithuania, and, now, solo at Fond Object Records' 4th Avenue location in downtown Nashville, as well as with a full band backing him later that evening at the High Watt venue nearby. It's been really inspiring to see the things he's accomplished and to get a chance to dig in deep with him about a range of existential subjects.
You can read my interview with him (and the help of my friends / colleagues Liz and Lee) on the Original Fuzz blog here or keep scrolling to check it out. -- KLA
